I got in the second of my 70 hikes yesterday. Only 68 to go before next December! How do you like Barb's new pink sunglasses?
This time we hiked the Alamo Canyon Loop in Catalina State Park, which we've only done once before. It has quite a variety of scenery, from this lush grassy area down by the wash ...
The classic peanut butter blossoms. Can't go wrong here!
Mocha chocolate chip cookies with espresso powder that I've been making for about 20 years. They'll keep you awake if you eat too many at bedtime. I know this for a fact.
My favorite this year is a coconut macaroon dipped in melted chocolate and then in crushed peppermint. I also made some with nuts for a friend who doesn't like peppermint.
Cherry almond fudge, another staple for me.
Little Juniper also got her first taste of making Christmas cookies with her mom. I wish I could have been there!
Have a colorful day

Yum! I don't dare bake cookies! At least you have your hikes to burn some calories! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Those cookies looked yummy!
ReplyDeleteOooo - I'll take a piece of that fudge! I'm hoping to make at least one batch of cookies between Christmas and New Years, but now, I think I'll dig out my own almond fudge recipe :-) Keep on hiking and happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteOh, dear, your pictures make me crave cookies, but I cannot bake.this year. I vowed at Halloween that I would lose 10 pounds by New Years and have two yet to go. If I don't eat the next seven days I might make it! Since we are having unusually heavy, almost constant rain, I can't walk it off either. I will keep trying. Hope you are having a peaceful, cozy Christmas Eve and will have a Merry Christmas day. My fitness instructor flew to Tucson this evening to spend Chistmas with family. Glad to be out of the rain.
