The intrepid Feet and Forks (my hiking group) set off into the fog this week for our hike around the Chambers Bay golf course in University Park, WA. You could hardly see the golf course (below), which will host the U.S. Open in 2015. I hope it's a little clearer then.
But we did find color!
The bridge is joining the growing trend around the world of "love locks," where lovers place a lock on a bridge and throw the key into the water below.
An article in the Tacoma News Tribune describes it:
"It’s a romantic phenomenon that’s spreading across the world, and now it’s come to University Place: a bridge of locks.
"In the relatively new tradition, a couple inscribes a lock with their names and possibly a date or a proclamation of their love. After affixing the lock to a bridge, they throw the key into the water below."

The grayish photo above is how the water looked on Monday from Chambers Bay. The mostly blue photo below is how Chambers Bay looked the next day from across the water on Anderson Island. It might inspire a quilt ...
Have a colorful day
Well, you know me - I can find beauty in grey, and I'm pleased that you were able to find color highlighted by that grey in a way it otherwise could not. Also, such an interestingly composed opening picture and I just love the one at Chambers Bay - the dock just floating off into nothing.
ReplyDeleteWas looking up some abstract paintings that purportedly every artist should study and ran across this one which in a way reminded me of some of your photos of this day. http://www.sfmoma.org/explore/collection/artwork/4418
