I went outside this morning to get photos of the mist burning off, but as the sun broke through I was staggered at what else was out there: Hundreds of huge spider webs suspended everywhere, each jeweled with beads of dew.
These first few were on our garden fence. If it weren't for the sudden sun, I might have overlooked them ... or walked into them.
Besides setting the leaves aglow, the light revealed spider webs on fences, car racks, tree boughs, everywhere. Our neighbors' fir tree looks like a flocked Christmas tree, except flocked with webs instead of snow.
Our rhodies were so covered with webs that I was afraid they might be smothered:
It got me thinking that the scarf I finished last night was like a web of yarn and thread, snaring snippets of fabric instead of bugs:
Have a colorful week
Amazing - especially the ones on the car rack.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And just in time for Halloween! We don't get many like that here, but at times when I go out in the morning, there are silken threads all over the vegetation that covers the ground, so I'm thinking we have ground spiders... I love the scarf-web comparison!
ReplyDeleteSuch lacy lovely spidey art
ReplyDeleteyour camera catches well the early morn spinners
with your eye of the artist!
Yes, I have been seeing these webs too. Such intricate construction that turns to lace in the sun. Fall is a wonderful time of the year.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
