The yoga girls' houses and gardens are complete, and I picked out this big, blowsy flower print to use on the back. I'm going to quilt from the back, outlining the flowers. I've known about this technique forever, but it will be the first time I've done it. It's a little scary to think about not knowing what's going on with the front as I quilt.
There's a dahlia garden near the quilt shop in Port Gamble where I bought the backing. The flowers are incredibly huge and perfect:
Wish me luck with the quilting.
I don't want to ruin the yoga village!
Have a colorful day

Hey, Sherrie, hope you don't mind me correcting you, but those are dahlias, not zinneas!! Good luck with the quilting. Can't wait to see it finished.
Thank you Gerrie! I knew that, but for some reason I also say "zinnia" when I mean "dahlia." I changed the post.
I love your yoga village! I admit when I first saw your yoga girls I was lukewarm, but now that they're in their houses and all together in the village, I am delighted!! Have fun with that quilting!
Also - love your dahlias - I've got the same thing going on in my backyard right now (in Aberdeen, WA!)
Thanks for sharing!

Elizabeth -- Tried to reply but you're a "no reply" blogger. I'll admit that the yoga girls are more cutesy than what I usually do, but I love them with the bright flowers and skies.
Wow! You have been busy!!! Love the picture of the yoga quilt and her feet!! HA HA
Well! Isn't THAT a happy little village . . . I've never tried the quilting from the back following the backing print pattern either so I feel your anxiety. It's another one of those things that you'll never know until you try it. Hope it turns out well because this is such a bright and wonderful quilt.
Those dahlias are just stunning. Thanks for sharing - what a brightener to the day.
Sherrie, thanks for telling me I'm a no-reply blogger... I thought I had that setting fixed.... will investigate how to do it!~
