Last evening light
I watched in awe as the last evening ray of sun illuminated my quilt on the eastern wall. I had just enough time to snap one photo and then the fire was extinguished and the night turned dark.
Beautiful, Sherrie! I love the gleam of the small piece of metallic fabric just outside the band of sun, and the stitch patterns in the shadows. Great job of capturing this!
Incredible moment you caught in the fading light! So much like the moon setting in the ocean early before dawn, casting a pathway of light from the horizon to the viewer. Beautiful quilt within the quilt!!
I am a quilt artist and journalist living in Tucson, AZ, after 12 years in the Pacific Northwest preceded by shorter stints all around the country. I started this blog as a way to keep in touch with other fabric artists but soon started weaving in threads about colorful places, people, food, wildlife and anything else that might bring color to your world. I just read an article about contemplative photography you might enjoy. Your quick snap is exactly what he is talking about.
