OK, this wasn't supposed to happen. I leave home to spend a month in the Arizona sunshine and it SNOWS!
I would've expected this at higher elevations, but I thought we'd be safe from snow in Sedona in March. It's supposed to last for two days.
It's pretty, but not what I expected. The house across the street looks like it's dusted with white for Christmas, not for March:
With hiking out of the picture until the storm blows through, the only thing left to do is head to the quilt store for a jelly roll to make a Jelly Roll 1600 quilt, right?
LET'S ROLL!
First stop: Quilter's Store Sedona, where I find a nice selection of jelly rolls. I picked this one because it has those light, bright colors that I love. The quilt store is really nice, and I'll be back on Monday with a blogger friend from Flagstaff.
Back "home" (with a stop to photograph the stormy skies from atop Airport Mesa), I find directions for the Jelly Roll 1600 quilt from Heirloom Creations:
Then the sewing begins as the rain outside changes to snow and the heater roars. I'll keep you posted.

The snow looks pretty to me - that storm blew through San Diego with a lot of rain and wind. Your jelly roll colors are beautiful - they will make you think of sunshine and warmth!!
What a bummer! But tomorrow will be a better day. AND you will have a colorful quilt top to cheer you up. Keep on sewing.
Monday's coming, and warmer temps as well as lots of sunshine! There's about 10 inches of snow at our house, with more in the forecast. No worries... we have a truck with 4 wheel drive! I just have to shovel the snow out of the back tomorrow, and I'll be good to go! See ya...
HA! The "best-laid plans of mice & men..." eh? Aaah, such is life. I talked with a friend in AZ yesterday & she had rain/hail mix. This, too, shall pass & I'm pretty sure you'll still have enough beautiful weather by the time you head home to have warm, sunny (mostly) memories of your time spent there.
Bet all the plant life there is thankful for the moisture!
