Big bowl

I decided to go bigger on the bowl that I made from my wonky log cabin strips, so I unstitched the last few inches and spliced in some more cording.

I kept sewing until I used up all of the cording and most of the scraps. It's my biggest bowl yet!

The spiraling reminded my just a little of this bark pattern on a tree we saw on one of our hikes here in Sedona.

 Have a colorful day

I like it! And you must know I've been thinking about bowls this week, how I have TWO books on making them and yet have not tried it. You are teasing me, goading me, inspiring me!

And I do see the resemblance to the tree bark.

Waaay kewl! Love the colors, and the size is perfect for lots of fun things! I am just finishing up a ginger jar I learned from the book I got recently... using some of the batik I bought when we were at Cloth Plus! I will send you a picture when I have it done. Meanwhile, enjoy every last minute in Sedona, and have a safe trip home... sniff, sniff!

The colors are very southwestern and lucky you to live in Sedona! I've always wanted to try one of those bowls. It looks hard to sew.
