Old Paso del Norte guild president's blocks!

I finally finished my own block today.

I was taking a break from sewing a baby quilt today and came across an 18-year-old treasure box ... 25 president's blocks that were given to me in 1996 at the end of my tenure as president of the Paso del Norte Quilt Guild in El Paso, TX.

Every block is a unique treasure and a reminder of the friends I had to leave long ago when we moved from El Paso. I'm still in touch with a few after all these years.

Do you remember the sewing studio fabric in the house above? I think I still have some in my stash.

The creator of the yellow house embellished it with rows of gold machine embroidery -- gorgeous.

One of these years I'll put them together into a quilt, but for now I enjoy looking through them all individually a few times a year. If any of you are reading this -- THANKS!

Have a colorful day
