Challenge excitement

I painted a colorwash over Karen's challenge fabric
and topped it with an extra free-form strip block ...

1 + 2

... while practicing Rayna Gillman's free-form quilt technique

= 3

... and discovered that the painted fabric works in the practice quilt!

Now I have to get crackin' on the challenge quilt, using more of Karen's fabric and Rayna's free-form piecing technique. Our deadline is the end of the month! I think the lavender linen pulls the prints together.
