This first day of October began quietly, with Bunners peeking from her hiding spot and fog shrouding the water.
I sipped coffee by the window and then decided to take my camera outside and capture some images from the day. I have nothing better to blog about, so I'll just offer up these pictures of a peaceful morning.
Sea gulls wheeled above me and rested on a floating dock as the sun burned through the fog, turning gray water silver.
A heron statue guarded the fish pond while our little boy statue quietly read in the spreading sunshine.
Pink blooms and purple kale added more color to the morning, glowing in the sun.
Inside, my wool birds and embroidery floss waited for my attention. I did do a little stitching later in the afternoon, after errands and yoga had been done and dinner planned.
If you ever come to visit, you'll be greeted by Bunners' outdoor friends who live on our front porch. Hope you had a good Oct. 1.
Have a colorful day

We've been having misty mornings and sunny days here in Blighty. After a rather dismal August, summer slips away on a high. But I fear the autumn Atlantic storms are on the horizon. Wind and rain next week?
Hi, Sherrie. Beautiful pictures--quite the opposite of my morning reality with temperatures still in the high 80s. Love your bird project and I really enjoyed seeing the smashing art quilts in the previous post. What a show!
best, nadia
Beautiful pictures! Your yard is where I would be spending time... lush, colorful and looking very peaceful. We're going into some windy days here with a few t-storms next week... dipping down into the 60's during the day, and high 30's at nite. Brought my Geraniums in yesterday. Stay warm and enjoy your stitching!
Wow - at first glance I thought the picture of the kale was actually the photo above it after going through some photoshop filters. I had not idea kale came in such hot colors!
I think you deserved this peaceful day off after all your work getting the quilt show up.
