OK, I've been neglecting my quilt followers -- maybe because I haven't been quilting much?
Here is what I'm working on now, above. It's going to be a
summer throw
for the white wicker love seat on the front porch, and all I have left to do is the binding.
And now we'll jump across the lane to my neighbor's patio table, below, where you can feast your eyes upon
Rosemary's fabulous strawberry pie
and flowers. She's the neighbor I wrote about in my "Black Thumb Gardener" blog, the one who is going to turn me into a Green Thumb.Speaking of Green Thumb,
take a look at Dave's peas!
We've been eating them right off the vine
and then crisping up bowls full in the fridge for snacking later.
Not only does Dave have a green thumb, but he can also make a sweet pie. Every summer he makes a batch of nectarine pies, and here is one from last weekend, along with corn and chilies fresh off the grill. The man deserves a beer -- Sierra Nevada Summerfest, thank you.
Note the tablecloth: It's a quilt I made last summer specifically to be a tablecloth. I left out the batting and backed it with a wide piece of white flannel. The flannel helps keep it from slipping off the table, plus it's not as bulky as a regular quilt. I think the colors in the fabrics are delicious!
Have a deliciously colorful weekend!

I am happy to say that this is my first blog post...ever. It looks like you guys have a wonderful life there. Your quilts are beautiful. Dave's pie and roasted corn look so good. I've always enjoyed making my home filled with colorful rooms and food. So it seems like we have alot in common. Hopefully we will share a meal together in the future. Since this is my first blog, I don't know how to sign in as me. It says its from Jeff but its from me-Kathy LOL
OK, I enjoy seeing the fiber work but LOVE seeing pics of food..can't help myself. Good idea on using flannel for the tablecloth! Great idea in fact!
Yum! but we'll have to have a pie throw down- I make the meanest peach custard pie ever! Of course I will lose that challenge because I don't have handmade table cloth to serve it on.... oh, wait! I made the dish I'm baking it in!!! Hope to link up with you guys soon!
The colors are so restful in the 1st quilt - and I spotted the sea stars there! I'm ready for 1 piece of both pies, my peas are eaten and still producing, so loved that picture, too. What a rich & diverse area we live in - don'cha ya just love summer? Thanks for sharing - your projects & photos are a delight!
