Sew Day at Carolynn's

Today was Sew Day, and I'm starting with the food. These cookies capped off lunch under the patio umbrella on a beautiful, balmy, sunny Northwest summer day at Carolynn's house. (And no, we didn't have to do any squats.)

The main course was a delicious salad with all kinds of good stuff -- greens, chicken, oranges, dried cranberries, nuts, avocado, cheese. The Northwest cherries are in season now, so we have to enjoy them while we can.

This is the view from the deck,
first looking over the water ...

... and then turning around
to a lushly landscaped hillside.

Backing up, we started the morning with another gorgeous array -- cherries, watermelon and scones.

The breakfast table was set with roses from Carolynn's garden. Luscious!

Moving on to the sewing, Linda J. pinned a colorful garden of wool flowers to her table mat and worked on stitching them down.

Linda P. worked on another wool flower ...

... and showed us a felted piece that she made in a class at Makers Mercantile.

Carolynn was working on a wool cactus garden.

And Nancy was finishing up a wool seashore table mat.

Linda J. and I brought these art aprons for show and tell, and I'll tell you more about them in my next post when I blog about STITCH's play day on Anderson Island. That's Linda's on the left with the flowers.

  Have a colorful day

You gals are amazing! And BTW, I would count that as a squat for sure! Your salads look really yummy, the stitch work is lovely as usual, I love the view (covet the Hydrangea!), and your aprons are wonderful! I have one I haven't done anything to, so can't wait to hear about yours in the next post!

Oh geez, cookies. For me they go down as quickly as potato chips and you know what they say about chips!! Wonderful fiber work pictures. Such a beautiful place to meet and stitch too.
xx, Carol
