Hot and spicy table runner

I started a nine-foot-long table runner over the weekend and all I have left to do is the binding. I made it in hot and spicy colors, cooled down a bit by black-and-white prints.

I needed another mindless project to keep me busy without having to constantly make decisions. I think a lot of us are feeling that way this year. So I just cut a bunch of strips in various widths and sewed them directly to the batting and backing in a stitch-and-flip technique.

It was actually TOO quick, because it's only been a few days and now I need another project!

This is true:

Have a colorful day

Wow! I didn't realize the table runner was that long. So pretty.

Love that meme. Yep, that's right!!

Great to "see" you yesterday.

I love the table runner, and can't wait to see it on your table! Actually, it's not a bad shawl either... hmmmm!
It was great to see you and Lynda yesterday, only thing better would have been in person. Hang in there... if you can't make your trip next week, maybe we'll schedule an in between "session"! And maybe you need to get busy and set up one with your gals up north... just sayin'! ;-)
Hugs!

I had a great laugh with the mask image you posted. It is fun to laugh- I don't do it enough.

Your table runner idea is a great one. I may borrow your idea but make it smaller. I don't have a 9-foot surface to use it on.

For someone who has moved and has changed your way of life, I applaud your courage and know that it must be hard to face this with the pandemic making it harder to find ways to interact with face to face contact. You are very resilient and have a great sense of humor. We are all struggling with the changes in our world- pandemic and systemic.

I'm glad you are able to keep in touch with your northern friends. It helps me to do this with my friends in my own town especially since it will get too cold for us to meet outside pretty soon. I suggested to my crafting friends that we do Zoom and work on whatever we want to with chit chat included. I got the idea from a zoom quilting class where we sewed and learned as we went along. It is important to have others in our life. My family lives on the West coast and I live on the East Coast. One daughter and I do an exercise class weekly. It is fun and great for me. Just seeing her helps.

Have a great week. Looking forward to your next project!

Donna, Zoom sessions are a great invention and even though I don't do many, they sure are better than old-fashioned phone calls.

Love your runner Sherrie. The black and white adds some relief from the gorgeous fallish colors. You must have a huge table. Glad you're getting some relief from the 100 degree + temps.

I love the colors and b/w accents!!!! Very nice...BUT who are you having to dinner and do you have a table that long...although, I just looked and our table is over 5' so I guess 9' isn't that long! HA
